Winter expeditioin of the Institute of Zoology on Dniester river

The Dniiester expedition on Dniester river carried out by the team of the Institute of Zoology was finalized recentrly… hard to say it is a winter expedition…however some traces of snow was observed still near Ocnia. Downstream of the dam of the hydropower plant НIЖНЕДНIСТРОВСЬKA  ГЕС – as it is written on it, the formed island was increased significantly. The water and hydrobiont samples were easily collected up to the middle of the river wihouth need of a boat. The expedition was carried out in the framework of the project “Creating a system of innovative transboundary monitoring of the transformations of the Black Sea river ecosystems under the impact of hydropower development and climate change” Hydroeconex BSB 165, funded by EU, Common Operational Program  Programului “Black Sea Basin 2014-2020”.
